Retail Connections Employment Program
The Retail Connections Program is an employment and skills training program for immigrant young adults ages 18-30, that helps unemployed and underemployed immigrant youth and young adults to gain the skills and experience needed to find employment in the retail and customer service industry.

The Retail Connections Employment Program can help you by:
• Providing an opportunity for you to complete industry specific training certificates such as: WorldHost Customer Service, FoodSafe and First Aid training.
• Helping you understand what it takes to build up a career in Canada, and give you the skills and tools necessary to start your career. Topics covered include: resume and cover letter writing, interview and networking practice, connections with possible employers, retail specific workshops on (customer service and sales, inventory management, merchandising and displaying and occupational health and safety).
• Providing an opportunity for you to meet other new immigrant young adults, who are going through the same process, with whom you can share stories, experiences, and successes.

You can participate in the Retail Connections Employment program if you are:
• Unemployed or underemployed working less than 20 hours/week
• Non-EI eligible
• 18-30 years old
• Permanent Residence, Canadian Citizen or Protected Person
• Intermediate conversational English skills
• Not participating in another Canada Job Fund Employment Services & Support program
• Residents of the Lower Mainland

The Retail Connections program takes place 5 times a year, in either 4-week or 2-week workshop cycles, followed by 1-on-1 job coaching support. Please inquire to find out when the next program start date is.
