A leadership position within the organization, the SWIS Manager oversees the Settlement Worker in Schools Program in North and West Vancouver and youth programming at NSMS. The SWIS program is a school-based outreach program that helps newcomer students and their families settle into their North and West Vancouver school and community through 1-1 appointments with parents and workshops for students and their parents. The SWIS program helps families communicate effectively with schools through in-person meetings with school staff and by providing support with written communication. A variety of youth programs are offered after-school and during school breaks to connect newcomer youth with their community and engage youth in anti-discrimination and diversity education.
